Columbia, Sc, Is Every Foodie's Dream With Both Local And Chain Restaurants Circulating The City.

While patrons can go to nearly any corner of the city to try a new dish, the 1600 block of Main Street is famous for a variety of different delicacies including fine dining, southern favorites and vegan options to name a few – making it a hot spot for lunch outings.

“I really want to acknowledge that we have a lot of fantastic lunch menu options further up Main Street,” Director of Marketing for LTC Hospitality, Mary Cate Spires, said.

Spires noted Main Course, The Grand on Main, Smoked and Good Life Cafe for all being local spots with lunch menu options that offer a diversity of choices. Alongside lunch, Main Course and The Grand offers entertainment-style options.

Serving lunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Main Course offers a $15 lunch buffet plus their daily lunch menu. The restaurant also offers an express pick-two lunch option for $14 which includes a soft drink.

Local favorites include the Main Course burger, shrimp and grits, fish and chips, and poke bowl.

Main Course doubles as an event venue, often offering live musical performances.

The Grand offers a variety of foods ranging from southern delicacies like chicken and waffles and bar foods like loaded nachos to fine dining like filet mignon. Nominated and awarded “Best Place for a First Date” by Free Times, the higher choice meal options paired with the restaurant's high booths set a more romantic atmosphere.

The restaurant's tap wall is a great addition to their full-service bowling alley with retro-styled lanes. Lunch-goers can book a lane starting at 11 a.m.

Smoked pork chops, tacos and burgers cooked to your liking are a few other menu favorites.

Located a few stops down from The Grand, patrons can find Smoked.

Smoked brings a new flair to classic Southern cuisine with artisan smoked meats and regional oysters from the east and west coast with their high-end oyster bar.

“The Smoked patio is huge with a nice fan and cornhole boards – and all around just a cool place to hang out and relax,” Spires said.

Smoked uses local, heirloom ingredients to inspire all cuisines, libations and brews. Their lunch menu options range from small plates like lobster deviled eggs and pork belly trail mix to entrees like a prime smoked burger and smoked burrata salad.

For those searching for vegan and plant-based lunch options, Good Life Cafe offers healthy meals that are made 90% fresh and in-house. While patrons can start the day with brunch at 7 a.m., lunch begins at 11 a.m. with options that range from nachos, avocado toast and basil pesto pasta to smoothies and smoothie bowls.

Good Life also accommodates those who are gluten-free by offering a variety of gluten-free menu options. Cocktails, espresso and coffee, teas and green juices are also available.
